The ESU option for Windows 10 appeared in Windows Update for awhile and I put off enrolling. Now the option is no longer displayed. I want to enroll. How do I do it? My system meets all requirements. I do not have an actual ESU MAK so cannot enter the command prompt. Please advise.

    Hi, good day!

If it has been offered to you before, there is a good chance it will come up again. Make sure that you've met all the requirements to enroll in the consumer (ESU) program and continue installing updates. There are still a few weeks before Windows 10's "End of Support" on October 14, 2025, it will automatically appear in your computer's Update & Security settings when it becomes available.

Please check and scroll down to Windows 10 Extended Security Updates (ESU) section in the support article in the link below for more details.

However, you can try Sumit's workaround in his tutorial at the link below if it helps.

To enroll in the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program for Windows 10 after the option has disappeared from Windows Update, you can manually activate the ESU keys. Here are the steps you can follow:

    1. Ensure that your system is running Windows 10, version 22H2 or later, and that you have administrative privileges.
    2. Open an elevated Command Prompt window.
    3. Install the ESU key by running the following command, replacing <ESU MAK> with your actual ESU MAK:
         slmgr.vbs /ipk <ESU MAK>

    4. After installing the ESU key, verify that it is installed by running:
         slmgr.vbs /dlv

    5. If you need to activate the ESU key, you can do so by calling the Microsoft Licensing Activation Center for your region to obtain a Confirmation ID.

If you encounter any issues during the installation or activation process, ensure that you have a valid ESU key and that it is activated.
