I have a quite good computer hand built for me in late 2023, as it not from a regular manufacture an outside IT company that built it recently updated its firmware in bios , however as another update may become available an update before secure boot patches are updated by MSFT do I need to look for said another firmware update later or will the MSFT patch search my hand built non brand computer and update as needed.

I once read Firmware updates to an OEM need to be done before MSFT patch Via 3 AI programs but don't know if that's true - please detail & thanks in advance

Hi ,

Well, in the case of a pre-built PC, updates can be detected from the motherboard via Windows Update, but not all PCs have this feature yet, except for OEM PCs.

If it's a pre-built PC, you can check the motherboard model in msinfo32.exe and access the manufacturer's website to download the latest BIOS and firmware.

If you'd like, take a screenshot and post it here so I can check.

Thanks

For some reason all think its a pre built pc, This is an expensive pc that an IT company hand built for me in Dec 2023 ,using parts that have great reviews and work well together , so its not a prebuilt hp or dell, or surface etc. Its a gorgeous custom Desktop built by PcPros Onsite a local company https://pcprosonsite.com/ that does whatever is needed to repair a PC or build one etc and if u check the link u can see all they do.

They updated the firmware ( as DaveM121 said here is any avaialble BIOS update for your system, it is advisable to install that. ) in the ASUS motherboard using the bios and BitLocker recovery keys, I hope I am explaining it right as I am not TECH fluent that's why I rely on them,.This was just earlier this Sept A Lawyer and Drs I know use them and recommended them,

I imagine they can always check to see if if any new firmware becomes available before the certificates expire based on things they know.

As of right now I imagine I am good to go pending when MSFT comes out with the certificate patches

Thank you for the help. I thought I accepted the answer that all is good to go
