Hello, my Microsoft account was hacked recently. The sign-in email was changed to a disposable address that I do not own (@****.com). Because of this, I can’t sign in or recover my account.

Details:

Previous email: [*** gmail.com]

Game linked: Minecraft Bedrock

Issue: When I try account recovery, it says “This Microsoft account doesn’t exist.”

I need help recovering the account and putting my Gmail back as the primary email. Please let me know how I can proceed.

Hi Aleo1 Verilis,

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Q&A Forum.

I understand your concern regarding the hacked Microsoft account. Since the sign-in email was changed to one you do not own, you will not be able to recover it using the normal login method. Please follow the steps below:

1. Go to the Microsoft Account Recovery page

2. Provide your original email address

Enter the Gmail address that was previously linked to your Microsoft account (before it was changed).

3. Fill out the recovery form

  • Provide as much information as possible (previous passwords, security questions, Xbox/Minecraft purchase info, billing details, etc.).
  • The more accurate the information, the higher the chance Microsoft can verify ownership.

4. Check for a verification email

Microsoft will send updates about your recovery request to the alternate email you provide during the form submission.

5. If recovery fails

  • Please try the form again with additional details you may remember.
  • You can also contact Microsoft Support directly: Contact Microsoft Support

Important: For security reasons, only Microsoft’s Account Recovery team can help restore hacked accounts. I do not have permission to reset or override this process.

I strongly recommend submitting the recovery request as soon as possible, as waiting too long may reduce the chances of regaining access.

If recovery attempts continue to fail, it typically means the account is considered unrecoverable. At that point, creating a new Microsoft account might be the only viable solution.
