Hi

I am facing a very serious issue with my Microsoft 365 account ([Personal information removed]@hotmail.com), and I urgently need guidance on how to resolve it.

The situation started when I received an SMS received on 4th September, 2025 at about 10:30 p.m., stating that someone else might have accessed my Microsoft account and asking me to click a suspicious link. Naturally, I did not click that link and ignored it as it was already night time. However, when I tried completing a task the next morning, my account was blocked, and I was informed that it may have been used by someone else.

Here is the timeline so far:

  • Immediately on blocking of account, I filed Appeals a few times leading to no response.
  • On 7th September 2025, I received an email from Microsoft stating that a “violation” had been confirmed and that the decision to block my account was being upheld. The message said that if I wished to contact Microsoft, I should quote a specific case reference number.
  • Since I suspected that till now only AI Bots were providing the support, I immediately wrote to the escalation teams by finding their contacts online requesting them to provide human intervention.
  • On 9th September 2025, I received an email from a Microsoft representative (Petronela), asking me to complete a questionnaire. I promptly completed and submitted it twice.

I followed up with several emails but initially received no reply.

  • Later, by means of an email dated 12th September 2025, Petronela informed me that the matter has been escalated to a development team, but he is still waiting to hear back on an estimated timeframe for resolution.

At this point, I have been asked to simply wait, but no expected period of resolution has been shared.

I am a genuine subscriber since 2019 and have always paid my annual Microsoft 365 subscription fees. This block has left me unable to access my data, emails, OneDrive files, or even basic services like my bank account log-in, since my OTPs are delivered to this email address. This has left me completely handicapped both personally and professionally. I urgently need either:

A human review of my case so that my account can be restored, or

At the very least, a way to download and retrieve my personal and professional data that I have built up over many years.

Could someone from Microsoft please guide me on how I can expedite this matter, or whether there is a higher-level escalation path available?

Thank you very much for your help.

Hey there! Nice to meet you!

Just a gentle reminder that we are only Microsoft users like you here in the community. We are not Microsoft employees, and we do not have the tools to escalate your case or access any Microsoft System.

Based on your description, and since you mentioned that the account is blocked due to a violation, kindly follow the guide to unblock your account through this link:

https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/account-has-been-locked-805e8b0d-4141-29b2-7b65-df6ff6c9ce27

If the issue persists, I highly recommend you submit a reinstatement form as a last resort:

https://www.microsoft.com/concern/AccountReinstatement?SilentAuth=1\&wa=wsignin1.0

(This is not an account recovery webform/ACSR)

You may receive the results via email within 48 - 72 hours.

If you haven't received a response to the reinstatement request you have submitted after 72 hours, please check your email inbox, junk, and spam folders in case you receive it there.

If the account has been unlocked but you are still unable to recover your account, the only way to recover the account is through the Account Recovery Form: https://account.live.com/acsr

Detailed steps on how to use the Account Recovery Form can be found here: https://support.microsoft.com/office/b19c02d1-a782-dee6-93c3-dc8113b20c42

It's important to note that Microsoft Support will not be able to grant you access to your account, you will be sent back to the Account Recovery pages that have been linked above.

Microsoft takes account security very seriously, that's why Account Recovery is an automated process with no human influence. If you don't have the correct information, you may not be able to get through account verification using the Recovery Form.

The Account Recovery Form requires adequate information to prove that you are the owner of the account. The Account Recovery Process can be a time-consuming process, but providing as much info as possible from the start of the process will increase the possibility of being verified by the automated process. You'll need to keep trying until you're verified by Microsoft.

Remember to use a familiar device from which you've frequently accessed your Microsoft account, as well as a familiar location. Microsoft will review your responses and respond within 24 hours. If you are verified, instructions on how to log back into your account will be sent to you, and if you are not verified, you will need to submit the Account Recovery form again. You can do this up to 2 times every 24 hours.

If your Microsoft account recovery request was not granted or was unsuccessful, please click the attached link for more information: https://support.microsoft.com/office/dc56c3e3-dff0-4ed5-8edb-60290eea6b53

Thank you for your kindness and understanding! Please feel free to let me know if you need anything else.

Best regards,

Darhyl
