Not sure why but I went to optionalfeatures and ran as administrator unchecked all smb 1.0/CIFS file sharing support and all my machines will now take a log in password. It worked for all 4 computers with the update and I still can access them with the 2 that dont have the patch without the log in. Sorry I forgot this, to get multiple computers to connect to the same computer I had to change the share from the default 20 to 19. Again, this is how I got this to work on my network consisting of 4 machines with the update 2 without the update all running windows 11 home. Microsoft still needs to fix this or come up with some new instructions on how to setup a small network with windows 11.

Came across this as I had problems with unable to access network shares. (I have 2 PC running windows 11 24H2)

I also was unable to RDP into my other PC. Following the solution set out here - uninstall KB50665426 - I was able to RDP in

It's unbelievable that MS keeps on breaking crucial Windows features out of the blue on each update and users have to find out a solution by theirself.

What solved the problem for me was accessing the SMB shares by manually entering the server's IP directly on address bar, e.g.: \\your.server.ip

    Hope it helps.

I was having the same issue since the November 2024 Windows 11 update. The following link is to the fix that worked on all of my Windows 11 computers. Just follow the instructions.
