What the heck just happened?

I have been using Co pilot for around two weeks now and everything has been great. Tonight I experienced something weird. I had asked if it was OK to eat chicken skin on my diet. While responding the voice changed (not my pre selected voice). It then said, I like that, you now know how to say my name properly. I immediately asked it to repeat it but it went back to the previous comment. I searched the text log and that weird comment was not there. Really freaked me out as the voice was completely different, human in every way. Is it possible I was listening in on another conversation? I have asked Co pilot a number of times but it says it didn't happen. I can assure you it did!

Hello @Derek Whittaker Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A and informed the issue. Based on your report, it is very unsettling and unusual in a way but do not worry because you're not listening to any other conversation since every Copilot session is private to you only and there's no cross-conversation between users. This issue could be due a temporarily glitch in the voice system, it can switch to a different voice because of a bug in the app or the network or if your selected voice wasn't fully loading or buffering, the system might change to another voice for a short moment. But if this keeps on happened then you can try these methods:

  • Sign out and log back to Copilot
  • Uninstall and reinstall the app
  • Repair Copilot: Go to Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Copilot > Click on the three dots > Advanced options > Repair, and if it still having the same issue > Reset
