I have spent several hours trying to get 2025-07 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5062660) (26100.4770) to install.

Using the internet Ive review and try many different things. The first was the windows update trouble shooter, it final said I should contact Support. The wait time was extremly long so off to You-Tube and review servial suggestions and try them all including most built it to Win11.

Are others experiencing a issue with this update? Ive in the past had ZERo issue with MS Updates.

Thanks for any suggestion.

Hi,

KB5062660 is an optional preview update that can be safely skipped. These preview updates serve as a test for the full version, which will be released on the second Tuesday of the following month.

On the Windows Update page, you can toggle the 'Get the latest updates as soon as they're available' option to 'Off,' which will prevent Windows Update from offering optional updates.

You can also use the Show or Hide tool to hide this optional update.

Download and install the Show or Hide tool, then run the troubleshooter. Choose to hide the specific update so Windows will not install it again. http://download.microsoft.com/download/F/2/2/F22D5FDB-59CD-4275-8C95-1BE17BF70B21/wushowhide.diagcab

Click next > Hide updates > Choose the update you want to hide then hit next .

Note: If you encounter a warning message while downloading the file, select 'Keep.'

I installed KB5062660 on my one laptop without any problem.

What error are you getting? Launch Computer Management and in the event viewer check the System and Setup logs for errors.

You can also try running my IsWindowsHealthy.ps1 Powershell script. That executes the most commonly suggested chkdsk/dism/sfc command line tools to check for common issues.

Save that script as a .ps1 file, open a powershell window with "run as administrator" and run the script. You may also need to set Powershell's execution policy.

Hello. I've been experiencing installation issues with this update package for a while now. Today, while researching the issue, I accessed the Microsoft Update catalog, downloaded the update package to my desktop using the link below, and then ran it. It installed without any issues.
