Office Android apps won't open after Samsung OneUI 7 update

I recently installed the Samsung OneUI 7 update on my S23 Ultra. Everything else seems to be working fine, but if I attempt to open Word or Excel, they simply refuse to open. The animation of the button opening up starts and then it collapses back down again.

I tried clearing the cache on Word and it had no effect. Then I tried to restarting my phone. It had no effect. Next I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it. No effect.

Outlook and Family Safety still work. But Word, Excel, and OneNote all don't.

I fixed it. When I opened the Office Mobile app, it had a storage/access request prompt. After I dealt with that, I opened Word and Excel from that app.

Based on the app details, it appears that this Office Mobile app came from the Samsung Cloud store and might be a pre-installed app. I'm not sure if it's actually good for anything or if it's just an advertisement for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Either way, it seems to be the source of the issues I was experiencing.

I have the same problem but M365 Copilot also doesn't open, and I do not seem to have an Office Mobile app. Any suggestions?

I've uninstalled WORD, shut down my phone and then restarted, and re-loaded WORD. No change. WORD, EXCEL, and M365 won't open.

This is especially frustrating since I did not request the Samsung OneUI 7 update and would have rejected it if I had realized what it offered.

I am having the same issue and keep seeing update permisions in the Office Mobile app. The only problem is I do not have the Office Mobile app on my phone. Can someone share the link or app icon for Office Mobile? The only app on my phone that is remotely comparable is Microsoft 365. I searched the Google play store and the Samsung store with no luck. I did try updating permissions in 365 which did not help.

Thank you! I opened Office Mobile and it didn't give me a prompt, but I did allow some permissions that were unchecked, and now everything works!

I did have the office mobile app installed and when I opened it it needed an update, I updated it and then cleared the memory cache as it suggested and everything now works/opens again, including Word, One Note, and Copilot 360. Thank you!
