Office Android apps won't open after Samsung OneUI 7 update

I recently installed the Samsung OneUI 7 update on my S23 Ultra. Everything else seems to be working fine, but if I attempt to open Word or Excel, they simply refuse to open. The animation of the button opening up starts and then it collapses back down again.

I tried clearing the cache on Word and it had no effect. Then I tried to restarting my phone. It had no effect. Next I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it. No effect.

Outlook and Family Safety still work. But Word, Excel, and OneNote all don't.

I fixed it. When I opened the Office Mobile app, it had a storage/access request prompt. After I dealt with that, I opened Word and Excel from that app.

Based on the app details, it appears that this Office Mobile app came from the Samsung Cloud store and might be a pre-installed app. I'm not sure if it's actually good for anything or if it's just an advertisement for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Either way, it seems to be the source of the issues I was experiencing.

I've searched for the Office Mobile app in the app pages by name and visually looking at all icons. I’ve looked at apps in settings too, just in case it might only be there.

I've done this more than once in case I missed it. Unfortunately, I can't find it.

Granted that Office Mobile is now Microsoft 365 Copilot, yet the two were independently listed among my apps. Notwithstanding that 365 had had the permissions granted to it, I still found Office Mobile needed to have the permissions granted separately in order to get the desired results (i.e. the various office apps to open properly). If it is any help, the Office Mobile icon was not among any on my home pages; I found it among the app pages accessed by swiping up from the home pages.

Identified that the Office Mobile App is now Microsoft 365 Copilot. Unfortunately, all permissions have been granted for that app by holding down on it and hitting the "i" symbol which takes you to the app settings. This still did not allow me to actually open the app or Onenote or Word or Excel or Power Point. I continue to either get a very quick pop-up window like it is trying to open and then immediately dissappears, or I get a pop up window that appears for a quarter second that shows a white rectangle with the letter i in it.

Is there anyone who has been able to solve this issue another way then the already mentioned methods listed in the above thread?

I was in the same bind. I didn't think I had the Office Mobile app, but after an extensive search, I found that I did have it. Following the suggestions in this thread, I gave it all permissions. Following that, the Microsoft apps (Word, Excel, OneNote, 365) all now opened. I don’t know why, but it worked. Thank you all who contributed to this thread.
