"Request was cancelled by event received. If attempting to delete a non-empty folder, it's possible that it's on hold" But it's a file instead

I've seen people argue about this error in SharePoint and how annoying it is, but somehow people have found a solution, but annoyingly I have seen 0 answers to my error. You see, this error normally happens with folders and the folder having an empty file inside with 0 bytes, but even worse than that is my error, which gives me the error when I'm trying to delete A FILE.
Yeah, that's right, a file, an error that should be only for a folder, somehow appeared when trying to delete a file.
For this example, I tried to delete an Excel file inside Sharepoint Web, and the message popped up, for extra information I'm using an account with admin permissions, and even I can't delete it.
For some unknown reason right now I am not able to attach an image but I'll try to attach one when I figure out why I can't.

    Delete error looks like this:

In addition to the issue deleting files we ALSO cannot move files but are getting a different and very lengthy error message. Can you see if users can moved a file and if you get this error as well:

We are having the same issue. It started on Friday 2025-02-21 with just one user account. Today another user cannot delete or edit, but both accounts can create files.

I tested assigning Full Control permissions to the two accounts. No change.

There are no holds, and other accounts can still delete the file.

This seems to be a brewing issue that Microsoft needs to ADDRESS IMMEDIATELY.

We are experiencing this issue as well. It seems the user/group needed Edit access to site as well as to libraries. We always gave them Read rights. Logged a call with MS and they are reviewing this as well. Its happening on all sites except NEW ones so it as if MS made a change!

The OP states that this happens when deleting a FILE, not a FOLDER. We are having the same exact issue with deleting FILES and FOLDERS. It just started this week. I raised a service request 4 days ago and we are still without a resolution.
