The error just appeared today on my notebook which I just edited last night. Can someone tell me how to fix it and sync again?

Hi,

Thanks for posting in our community.

Based on the description, it seems like now there will show an error code 0xE00012E3 when you try to open the notebook to edit. If my understanding is correct, please check the following details.

Note: As unsynced notes will get lost when you close the notebooks or sign out the account which is the below ways to troubleshoot the issue, please make sure all edited notes in issue notebooks have been backed up well in other local documents in case any data loss will happen on your side.

1.Please first sign in www.office.com and access OneNote Online via clicking the OneNote icon, then find the issue notebook and check if the notes you added last night are well synced. If not, make a manual backup or copy from local to online and make sure you get the check-on cloud icon.

2.Try to close the notebook and reopen it to see if the sync process can be re-activated again. If needed, sign out all accounts in the OneNote app and resign in to focus the OneNote app to sync again.

3.Kindly check some other suggestions from the official articles:

Fix issues when you can't sync OneNote (microsoft.com)

Resolve the 0xE0000007 error ("We ran into a problem syncing your notebook") in OneNote (microsoft.com)

If the issue persists, could you please share us some more details for further troubleshooting?

1.If the issue only happens on one specific notebook or some other notebooks?

2.If the local OneNote app is in the latest version? Kindly share back the screenshot in File>Account(If you are using OneNote 2016.)

3.If the same issue will happen when you create a new page/section/notebook locally?

Best Regards,

Mia
