Visio export to PDF has for the last few days mis-scaled the output - how to fix?

Hello.

I use Visio 2019 (desktop) to create large conversation trees. These are output to PDF using the inbuilt Visio export functionality. Since last week, the export functionality appears to be mis-scaling the output, resulting in the PDF cutting off a large part of the diagram as it is hitting the PDF 200 inch limit. To confirm, the Visio document is built to not exceed the 200in limit (it is 5m, just under 200in in width and much less in height).

This has always worked in the past. The problem is effecting both new and historic documents, including some very simply ones built to test the problem.

Nothing has changed in relation to the print, page size or drawing scale settings. And as I say, it seems to effect all PDFs I export, irrespective of source. Naturally, I've explored these settings again once I found the problem, but nothing seems to change the behaviour. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe, checked the document scaling (but this also happens on brand new document), etc.

What am I missing? Please help. Outputting to PDF is an important step in our QA process.... I had something similar many many years ago that was fixed by a hotfix....

Microsoft seems to have created this problem -- probably with the update around 12 April 2021.

This seems to be a global problem with Visio that started in the last few days.

I and others have posted about it as well.  Please post if you find a solution.

Hi All, I seem to have the same problem.

This is the A0 raw document.

This is the PDF Result from Save As PDF, Export to PDF & Print to PDF. As you can see missing the bottom & RHS of image. The file size of the PDF is also significantly larger than normal (15MB vs Typical 2-3MB)

Tested with New Blank documents on multiple PC's to ensure it is not PC or Template related with same results.

I also found that the save as process also takes significantly longer (in some cases 20-30+ seconds).

Thank you for taking the time to share. So pleased it's several of us (sorry) - as hopefully they will therefore work on a fix. Does mean that anything but smaller Visio diagrams cannot be exported to PDF - so must effect many people's workflows.

A4, A3 & A2 seems to work ok. A1 works for me, but the time it takes to save the file is significantly longer than normal, and the file size seems larger than it should be (as mentioned in my previous post)

Thanks for sharing re the paper size. Whilst I'm sure you're correct, the issue is A1 is only 15% the size of what Adobe PDFs and until early April, Visio supported in it's export.

None of my documents would fit at A1. Like many users of Visio we use the output digitally and/or printed via roll based plotters.

The other thread on this subject seems to be more focused on a related issue with hyperlinks. Could anyone else with this scaling issue report it through the feedback option in Visio to try and get it some attention?
