My spell check box keeps popping up out of the blue in my Word, Excel and Outlook. It will not go away and I can't type after the box pops up.  I have turned off auto spell check.  It just started doing this recently and I can't use my computer due to this.  How to fix and why did this occur? Thanks.

It could possibly be a faulty keyboard.  In Office applications, the F7 key launches the spell checker and perhaps it is being activated in some way.

Try to open Word 2010 programs in application safe and check.

Go to Start->Click on All programs-> Accessories-> Run->

Type winword /safe and Click on ok (Note: There should be a space between d and ‘/’)

If it works fine in application safe, then try to disable the adobe addins.

How to disable Add-ins in Word 2010:-

Step1: Click the File Tab in Word 2010 and Click Word Options.

Step2: In the left hand side of the Word Options dialog box, click Add-Ins.

Step3: Under ‘Manage’ Click the COM Add-ins

Step4: Uncheck all the Add-Ins listed under COM Add-ins.

Step5: Click close and restart Word.

    The suggestion is good and may effect a good resolution of the problem; also consider this which worked to resolve problem of My spell check box keeps popping up out of the blue in my Word, Excel and Outlook. It will not go away and I can't type after the box pops up.  Adjusted File - View - Show Hidden Files, for the hidden files to be visible for next steps, and did these two things - renamed Normal.dot - could have opted to just delete it - from the Windows XP PC with Word 2003 file location c:\Documents and Settings\ ( < user >) \Application Data\Microsoft\Templates and second, copied from a user with similar work tasks a Word spellcheck file - could have opted to just rename or delete the file - CSAPI3T1.dll - at c:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft shared\Proof then re-adjusted in File - View - Do not Show Hidden and System Files, so hidden files are not visible, and restarted PC. Launched Word and all the needed work tasks are going fine; that message The spelling check is complete is not repeatedly popping up now. Problem is resolved. Another tip is that in Office 2003 you may easily select in the menu items at near the top of the Word 2003 window Help, then Detect & Repair and select restore my shortcuts, and let Word 2003 repair itself to fix a variety of problems that could occur such as corrupt files that needed for Word to work properly.

    Out book keeper had a big stack of folders pressing on all the F-keys. Sometimes the simple solution works best. :)
