Looking for a message more than 6 months old. So have to use online search. I get a list of messages going back some years. when I click on the relevant message, first the messages below the one clicked start to disappear and then all the messages returned by the search function disappear. I have searched for this but all the answers are from around 10 years ago and hard to relate to the current SW build.

I have the same issue. I am using Outlook for MAC and our email provider is Microsoft Office 365 for business. This only occurs when I use the Outlook application for Mac. If I use the web client for O365 mail I do not have the issue.

This is not very helpful. Can you elaborate on why emails disappearing from search could be due to too many results being displayed? And what account settings could cause results to be erased from a completed search?

As for the issue, I can't speak for OP, but in my case I'm not even using a browser. We're just searching the online archive in the Outlook client.

Outlook as been reinstalled, the profiles have been recreated. This issue exists only on one mac and affects only that user.

I've verified Outlook is up to date (16.80), as is MacOS Sonoma (14.1.2), and we're searching for mail from a specific sender in All Mailboxes.

The issue does not occur in OWA, nor does it occur in legacy Outlook for Mac. So the issue is specific to the New Outlook.

What can we do in New Outlook to troubleshoot the issue?

Hello, Arshad! My name is Candy, and I am an Independent Advisor.

It sounds like you're trying to search for an old email message in your email account, but when you click on the relevant message, all of the search results disappear. Here are some things you can try:

    1. Narrow down your search criteria: If you're getting too many search results, try narrowing down your search criteria. Use specific keywords or search by sender, recipient, or date range to help reduce the number of search results.
    2. Check your account settings: Make sure that your email account is set up to show all messages in the search results. Some email providers may limit the number of search results displayed, so check your account settings to see if this is the case and adjust the settings if necessary.
    3. Try a different browser or device: If the issue persists, try accessing your email account using a different browser or device. This can help you determine if the issue is specific to one device or browser.
    4. Clear your browser cache and cookies: Clearing your browser cache and cookies can sometimes help to resolve issues with accessing websites. Try clearing your cache and cookies and then trying to access your email account and search for the message again.
    5. Contact your email provider's support: If none of the above steps work, you may want to contact your email provider's support for further assistance. They may be able to help you identify the issue and provide a solution.

Remember to keep your account information secure, including your password, and never share it with anyone. Use strong, unique passwords and enable two-factor authentication to add an extra layer of security to your account.
