How to disable "Editor" in Outlook.com in browser and revert to browser spell checker?

Outlook.com web Editor is disappointing, as it does not support multiple language spell checking (obvious for people working in multinational companies to know and use daily at least one or two foreign languages), it lags (sometimes just stops checking spelling for no aparrent reason) and is really slow.

How to disable Editor completely and revert to browser spellchecking?

    Hi,

    The entire point is to revert to using browser-only spell checker. But if the right click menu is "hijacked" by outlook's custom right click menu, then the browser spell checking is limited to only highlighting detected errors - there is no way to select correct word from right click menu, to add new word to browsers dictionary etc. Basically, editor is not doing anything, but it also prevents the browser to do it's work fully.

    Is there any way to remove the custom right click menu forced by outlook?

    Hi,

    I already read this reply in thread from march 2022. The problem is, that it apparently does not support outlook.office.com web version. There is no "Account" in web Outlook after pressing "gear" icon, or after going into "View all Outlook settings".

    Is there a way to do that in the browser web UI for outlook?

    This procedure does not disable editor. Editor is still checking spelling and highlighting errors, as well as it replaces browser context menu with the useless outlook right click menu (all the options are available from the formatting bar):

    To disable the editor, try to create a new email then click the ellipsis (...).

    Select Editor then Editor Settings.

    Afterwards disable Text predictions, Spelling, and Grammar.

    Hello ! I'm sorry that you are experiencing this issue, and I am hopeful that I will be able to help you find a satisfactory solution.

    Users can always disable Microsoft Editor by going to Settings > Account > Editor. This will turn off Microsoft Editor and will revert the user back to their system spellchecker.
