Hallo, my laptop, HP with 8BA5 motherboard with Windows 11, cannot detect its own in-built microphone. Is there any way to solve this?
Hello.
Press Windows key + R and type mmsys.cpl
Go to Recording tab, check if your microphone appears and is set as the default.
If it does, double-click it and go to Levels to check if it's muted.
Also click on the start menu and type msinfo32
Open System Information
Take a screenshot and upload it here, this will help find the audio driver for your system model.
Thank you for your answer! When pressing Windows+R en typing mmsys.cpl , a pop-up called sound displays, telling that the speakers are fine, but there is some unplugged disabled Headset Microphone, no built-in mike.
I may have used an old headset months ago, then threw it away.
Can you help me any further?

I have, and I guess this was the best chance to solve it, but it does not seem to change anything. My conclusion is that it is a hardware malfunction. I purchased a new plug-in microphone to work around the issue. Thank you very much!, your help led me to what I think is the problem.
