My computer has experienced a Bitlocker recovery this morning, and after that, I could no longer log in Microsoft teams desktop app version. I use windows 11. Somehow I could still log in via the web version. I tried uninstall and reinstall the app, and also restart my computer a couple of times, but it doesn't help. The same

error message kept showing up. Please let me know what I can do to resolve this. Thank you.

    Dear Andrew,

Thank you for reaching out regarding the issue you're experiencing with logging into the Microsoft Teams desktop application following a BitLocker recovery on your Windows 11 device.

This can be very unpleasant because it could affect your workflow. On the other hand, we appreciate your attempts to fix it by restarting your computer and reinstalling the app. Please take the actions listed below to assist you in regaining access:

I would recommend the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. Clear Teams Credentials
      • Open Credential Manager (search from Start).
      • Navigate to Windows Credentials.
      • Delete all entries related to Microsoft Teams.
    2. Clear Teams Cache
      • Close Teams completely (right-click the icon in the system tray > Quit).
      • Open File Explorer and go to:
        %AppData%\Microsoft\Teams
      • Delete all contents inside this folder.
    3. Update Teams Frequently
      • Keeping Teams updated ensures compatibility and resolves known issues.
      • To manually check for updates: click your profile picture in Teams > Check for updates.

    Additional Suggestions

    • Run the Teams Troubleshooter: Search for “Get Help” in Windows and follow the prompts for Teams login issues.
    • Check Privacy Settings: Ensure Teams has access to your camera and microphone under Settings > Privacy & Security.
    • Review BitLocker Recovery Impact: If TPM or secure boot settings were reset, it may affect authentication. You may need to re-authenticate your device with your organization.
    • Use the Azure Self-Service Portal to retrieve your BitLocker recovery key if needed.

If the issue persists after following these steps, please share the exact error message you're encountering so we can provide you with further assist. I'm truly sorry for the inconvenience this issue has caused you. Please know that we truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to support you.

I hope this information is helpful. If you have any questions about any steps above, please feel free to reach out us. I have you have a great day.

    Best regards,

Thanks for follow-up. I am still not sure what happened. I logged in a different Microsoft account on my word and excel earlier, which is why I couldn't log in my company teams, but that shouldn't be the root cause of the issue. Later on after I logged in my work Microsoft account on my word and excel, I can log in my work Teams now.
