• May I double confirm that you checked if they are not Activity Notification? To check this kindly click on Activity icon
• May I please confirm that you get same situation in both Teams for Desktop and Teams on Web (https://teams.microsoft.com/)?
• May I double confirm that you are using updated Teams? Version update history for Teams app deployments - Office release notes | Microsoft Learn
• May I know if you are using Windows or Mac device?
• Would you mind providing the screenshot which shows unread message you are experiencing via private message for the privacy of your data? I would like to make some more consultations on this issue from my end as well. For data security reasons, please provide some above requested information in private message. Here is the steps for private message: Click on Account manager or your profile-->my profile-->View private message. (See below screenshot)

1. No, there's nothing in activity and I don't have any badges for the Activity icon.
2. No, I'm not seeing this on the web version. The web version I launched still has the "chat" and "teams" as separate side navigation items. My desktop version has both "chat" and "teams" under the one "chat" page.

To separate Chats and Channels kindly follow below steps to see if it will make any difference:

• Kindly Open your Microsoft teams--> go To settings and more or three dots(...)--> Settings
• Navigate to Chats and channels -->Then choose or make sure that Separate option is turned on to see if it will make any difference

May I know if you get same behavior after clearing Teams cache? Kindly follow the steps for new teams Clear Teams cache - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn

If I revert back to separate and then eventually go back to combined, will the sections I created still be there?
