Change my Microsoft account from personal to business

I have an existing Microsoft account and am looking to purchase Office 365 for my small business. However, when I try to purchase, I receive a response stating that the account is managed by the organization. When I login into my account I can only purchase home or family versions of apps.

It has been some time since I created the account, but I obviously did something wrong to have the account recognized as personal. I have looked as much as I can, but I can't seem to find any answers. Should I just delete my existing account and start over?

    Hi MikeThomas1723,

I'm Nik, an independent advisor here to assist you with this.

May I know if you are trying to purchase Microsoft 365 business to your personal email address like (Gmail, Outlook, Hotmail, Live etc or work/school account (your organization IT department manages)?

Have you purchased a private domain(purchased from domain provider e.g. GoDaddy) and registered to your organization?

    Regards

    Nik
