Thanks for all the responses. I'm using Outlook on the web and when I right click the contact list file the only option I get is "Delete".
My primary problem is I cannot add/edit an existing contact list and I was thinking of copying the existing list, rename the copy and perhaps that would allow me to add/edit.
Are you using Outlook via Office 365 or Windows inbuilt Outlook? If you’re using Outlook via the web then it can’t be done afaik.
Are you wishing to export to a .csv file in order to save it or wishing to transfer it to a new email client?
Does this work?

I think you are looking at the List in your Address Book.
You need to open your Contacts Folder from the Navigation pane.
(Typically found on the left side of the Outlook window, displaying folders like Mail, Calendar, Contacts. If you don't see it, from the main menu choose View -> Navigation Pane -> Normal).
Find the Contacts Distribution List you want in the Contacts Folder and right click on it. You should see a number of choices.
Choose Move -> Copy To Folder.
This will open the Folder Picker window. Select the Contacts folder and [OK].
You should now have two copies of the List. Double click on the new one.
This should open the List in a new window showing the contacts.
Click in the "Name" field at the top and give it a new name. Click the windows close "X".
This should popup a "save changes" window.
Click [Yes].
Hello, I’m Virginia a fellow Windows user.
Sorry to hear you’re experiencing problems with Outlook.
If you wishing to move a contact group then you can select the contact group then right click>choose Move then copy to folder.
Otherwise there’s more suggestions here:
