Hi John. Phil again. Per your Method 2:

    **Open Device Manager
Expand the Sound, video and game controllers
Find the Realtek Audio driver in the list
Right click it and select Update
Click "Browse my computer for driver software"
Select "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer"
Make sure to put a check mark "Show compatible hardware"
Select an older driver from the list
Click Next then Restart your computer

Again, I'm using Windows 11, and making sure the "Show compatible hardware" box is checked, I do not get a list of drivers, even after hitting the "Next" button. In short, I don't see a list of the current driver and older ones.

Hi John. My name is Phil and I'm having the exact same issue as Fillpe, and yes, it's the built-in mic on my HP wide-screen laptop. It was working fine until this past Wednesday, 6/21/2023. Well, I hadn't attemtpted to use it until then, but the last time I used it, in early June, it worked fine, and was working fine for many months before that. Per your first method to try and fix it:

    **Run the Troubleshooter
Press Windows key+I to open Settings
    Select System > Troubleshoot
Select "Other troubleshooters" then Run "Speech"

I'm running Windows 11, and do not get the "Speech" option in the "Other Troubleshooters". When I run the Audio Troubleshooter under "Other TroubleShooters", it only tests the speakers, and they are fine.
