Fax and Scan hanging up

Try restarting the Fax service. Press Win + R, type "services.msc", and press Enter. Locate the "Fax" service, right-click it, and select "Restart."

If you're using a fax server, ensure it's online and accessible. Check your network connection and the server's configuration. If not, verify the line is working correctly. Try sending a test fax from another device if possible.

Still not working. One test fax to a different number worked, but in dialing this number a fax carrier is detected.

Given that a test fax to a different number worked and you detected a fax carrier tone when dialing this specific number, the issue is likely not with your computer or fax software settings.

The problem could be with the recipient's fax machine. It might be offline, out of paper, or experiencing technical difficulties. Try calling them to confirm their fax machine is operational.

The problem appears to be the number of documents which are attached. It works with just one document, but when I try to attach two or more it times out.

If the fax works with one document but times out with multiple documents, there could be a few reasons why.

This could be due to the File Size Limit. Try reducing the size of the documents by compressing the files into a ZIP archive. Lowering the resolution of image-based documents.
