    Hello,

Microsoft’s decision to end support for Windows 10 aligns with its standard lifecycle policy for operating systems. Windows 10 was originally released in 2015, and Microsoft committed to a 10-year support lifecycle, which means support will officially end on October 14, 2025. After this date, Windows 10 will no longer receive feature update or security update. That doesn't mean you cannot use Windows 10 after that. You can use it for as long as it runs.

Just like when Windows 8 and 7 ended support, for business users, extended security update will be available to buy them some time to trasition. For home users, Microsoft recently also annouced that extended security update will be available as well.

In addition, you can use third party security program of your choice if you don't want to move to Win11.

As for 12, Microsoft has not officially announced Windows 12's release date yet as of now.

What would cause windows 10 not to work if it is only being used for office and shopping on the internet? Upgrading to 11 means I need to buy a new computer

This is a garbage response because it ignores the fact that windows 11 is the first that FORCES you to buy new hardware. No one cares about your 10 year being normal excuse. This is planned obsolescence to force people to buy new computers and i hope we all get a real good class action lawsuit going the second you end support for 10 and like 70% of people still don't have a new enough pc to run 11. This was so cocky of Microsoft to find they could do that and now things like Linux and steamOS are gaining ground. Just so dumb of you.

To anyone reading this, I actually was able to install windows 11 on several older pc's, such as a 2010 laptop with first generation intel i5, and a desktop with a third-gen intel i7. I installed it using the tool called rufus. So I don't believe it's absolutely necessary to have a pc with newer than 6th gen intel or amd ryzen processors for windows 11 to install. One thing I would recommend though if updating an older system is to check if your hard-drive is a HDD (spinnin platter, old-school) or SSD (newer, much faster). Running windows 10 or 11 on SSDs makes older pc's seem uselessly slow (waiting for pc to start, waiting a long time for apps to open...) whereas an SSD makes it almost as fast as any modern system for normal everyday use : )

Microsoft is basically FORCING users to purchase a new PC or laptop.

I found this out after trying to upgrade to Windows 11 with an older PC.

I don't know what everyone else thinks, but I am really angry about this!

Microsoft has basically got the end user by the gonads!

    TERRIBLE PLAY!
