All USB Devices on all Ports keep disconnecting (including USB-C) while in use or while Idleing.

I´m using a Inspiron 16 Laptop and for a while now all my USB devices keep randomly (but still quite often) disconnecting all at once. Even when Using a docking station only the USB connections stop working until I manually reconnect them. The USB-devices like a mouse, keyboard or headphones work normally on other laptops/PCs, so I don't think the problem is there. My docking station has its own power supply so i've ruled out the lack of power (keep in mind that the same also happens to devices directly connected to the Laptop).

Is there anything I can do to fix the issue?

Hello there! I am Charity, I'm an Independent Advisor. I'm glad to help you today!

I'm really sorry that happened to you. Let's check power management settings.

Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.

Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.

Right-click on each USB Root Hub device, select Properties, and navigate to the Power Management tab.

Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

Click OK to apply the changes.

Please let me know if this works for you. I'll do my best to respond as soon as possible.

Kind Regards,

Charity

I had this problem, too. Altho mostly it affected my mouse but sometimes "radiated" to other usb-ports too and also diconnected them. Found this super weird solution to it, which I commented on one other site as well. Quote of what I wrote and what solved the probelem for me:

"I’ve had this prob of disconnections for like 3 months now and I’ve tried all the possible solutions there are. And none worked. As the prob just got worse and worse I switched to my older mouse to check what it says… Well, it worked fine and no probs. But the thing is it’s mid-button is broken and I use it a lot, so I decided that damn, I swich to new one as the disconnections happen only like every 5 mins or so and since I use mid-button more often than every 5 mins… But well, when put my current mouse back in… zimzalabim! All the problems are suddenly gone! No more disconnections or laggins of any kind. What solved the actual problem is absolutely a total mystery to me but at least the irritation is now gone."

Did this trick a week ago and no more problems after that.

Thank you for the confirmation. Is your USB hub also plugged in through either your USB-c charger or laptop for additional power?

I am not charging through the USB-c Hub. I am using the normal power cord.

The only 2 things that were connected to the hub at the time when I realized that pressing buttons on the keyboard disconnect it briefly, was just a keyboard and mouse.
