Screen Tearing Issues After Windows 24H2 Update

Since updating to Windows 24H2, I’ve been noticing screen tearing during regular use, such as scrolling through web pages, watching videos, and general multitasking.

  • My GPU drivers are up-to-date.
  • This issue wasn’t present before the update.
        Is anyone else encountering this?

picture lagging + very often when using alt+tab the sceen stops updating the data displaying, or some part of the screen doesn't update. for example I switch from browser to vscode very often and very often the vscode or the browser stucks with the prev image. I scroll through my code, but on the screen I see a static image, or teared image where part of it scrolls and part of it stays the same..

I worked through some of the suggestions but the issue kept coming back. What finally worked for me was going into Nvidia Control Panel / set up G-sync / Enable for windowed and full screen mode / apply changes. So it's some sort of incompatibility with the December 5 RTX driver and the latest Win11 update but this fixed it for me. It was a lack of screen refresh on scrolling in multiple apps such as Slack, Chrome, and Word, and a failure for the screen to refresh upon a scroll, and getting a partially updated screen when scrolling, where there was a portion of the screen not updating. Hope this helps, that callout on windowed games was key.

    Hi, i think I found a solution

I found that turning off “Optimizations for windowed games” in System > Display > Graphics seemed to fix the issue for me.

But this is a temporary solution until windows updates and resolves this bug.

    Brilliant. Cheers mate!
