Greetings,

How do i completely disable game bar in windows 11 so its not even running in the background, i dont need any more overlays running in the background on top of each other, i tried opening game bar setting and unchecking the box, i also went to the installed apps - system components - game bar - advanced settings - and under background components permissions i set it to NEVER, also terminated all running components, restarted my system but the darn thing is still running in the background i can open it with a windows + G shortcut combo like before.

How the hell do i get rid of this bloatware in my system?

My apologies, please do the following,

Open Windows PowerShell as Administrator and copy paste the following command and hit enter,

Get-AppxPackage -PackageTypeFilter Bundle -Name "*Microsoft.XboxGamingOverlay*" | Remove-AppxPackage

This should work but there are chances a future update might again reinstall game bar.

Hi,

did you not read the message? I already did these steps, it doesnt disable anything, game bar is still very much active, you can bring up the overlay with windows + G key even AFTER doing all those steps.
