Dell AIO experiencing Wi-Fi connection drops then BSoD

I have a DELL OptiPlex 9030 AIO PC, which has been experiencing sudden Wi-Fi drops, followed closely by a BSoD.

The issue happens mostly at random.

In recent days, the issue appears to have been mitigated after I disabled the integrated Wi-Fi adapter, opting for using a dongle instead.

Still, I would like to ask for your help in tracing the root cause of this issue.

Thanks in advance.

These are my PC's specs:

DELL OptiPlex 9030 AIO

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790S

RAM: 8GB DDR3 SDRAM

Storage: Kingston SSD 480GB

OS: Windows 10 Home x64

These are the latest minidumps along with last event xml:

Hello!

All minidumps fail on Wi-Fi drivers (vwififlt.sys and Netwbw02.sys).

The problem is solved by disabling the Wi-Fi adapter, right?

This problem can indicate 3 possible problems:

  1. Outdated driver or Conflict with other drivers.
  2. Corrupted Windows.
  3. Defective Wi-Fi card.

What I recommend:

  • If you use VPN, Antivirus, Banks, or Virtualizers, temporarily uninstall them.
  • Do a clean boot. It disables all third-party services. If the problem does not occur in Clean Boot, it means that some program is causing it.

REMEMBER: Don't forget to enable the Wi-Fi adapter to test.

  1. Press CTRL + R shortcut > Type ''msconfig'' (without quotes) > Click on the ''Services'' tab > Check the ''Hide all Microsoft services'' option > Click ''Disable All'' > ''OK''.

ATTENTION: Activate these services again after testing, otherwise some programs will not work.

  1. Restart the computer > See if the blue screen appears at any point.
  2. If the Blue Screen does not appear, follow the steps in Step 01 > Only activate a third-party service > Restart the computer > See if the blue screen will appear at any point.

NOTE: This procedure is not a solution, just a test. It disables all third-party services and programs. If the problem is solved later, enable the programs and services that will start with Windows again.

  • Remember, some programs and services may not work properly.

    Hi.

Sorry for this very late reply.

I just wanted to update the thread with my last testing, which indeed it points to a defective on-board Wi-Fi adapter.

We could not find any conflicting driver. The on-board device keeps failing even on safe mode.

We disabled the adapter from device manager and we hadn't had any more bsods. It's been working fine ever since.

The machine is too old to RMA so a dongle will have to do.

I'm marking your reply as the answer for helping us pinpoint the root cause of the issue.

    Thanks for your help.
