Hello,
Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.
I understand that you're experiencing issues with your Surface Pro Signature Keyboard. I value the time you have spent in trying to fix this problem. Let us both isolate this problem. Allow me to ask some questions.
- Is there a chance for you to test the keyboard to another Surface or test another keyboard on your Surface device? This would help us determine if the problem is with the device or the keyboard itself.
- When did this issue started?
- Were there any changes made prior to this happening?
Here are some steps you can try to isolate the problem:
- Confirm Connectivity:
- Press the Caps and Fn keys on your Surface Type Cover or Keyboard several times to check whether the LED lights turn on.
- If the LED lights turn on, your problem may be with Windows and not the device itself. The next step is to reset your Surface:
- Go to Start, enter reset in the taskbar, then select Reset this PC.
- Choose Keep my files and select Cloud download. Follow the prompts shown on screen. For more detailed steps and a video, see Restore or reset Surface for Windows - Microsoft Support
- If the LED lights don't turn on, there might be a hardware issue. To verify in UEFI, do the following:
- Select Start > Settings > System > Recovery.
- Next to Advanced startup, select Restart Now.
- Under Choose an option, select Troubleshoot> Advanced Options> UEFI Firmware Settings, and then select Restart.
- Press the up and down arrow keys to change what is selected on the left side menu to check if the keys work or not.
The steps can be found at Troubleshoot Surface Type Cover or Keyboard - Microsoft Support.
I hope you will be able to test another keyboard or test the keyboard to another Surface device.
Let me know how it goes.
Kind regards,
Lavenia
