It would be good to show within the platform the invalid clicks, so as to give a better service to users and make the platform more transparent as competitors do.

Hello Alessandra SCR,

Thank you for participating in the Microsoft Advertising Community, your feedback and suggestion. We truly appreciate your input as it helps us improve our platform and services.

Microsoft Advertising provide tools and resources for monitoring click quality directly within our platform. This enables you to have full transparency and control over your advertising campaigns. You can review reports that categorize clicks into standard-quality, low-quality, and invalid clicks.

For detailed insights on monitoring click quality and understanding performance, you can check out our help article Monitoring clicks: Telling the good from the bad (microsoft.com). It provides valuable information on how to identify and manage different click types effectively.

Understanding Click Quality: With each click on your ads, Microsoft Advertising categorizes it into three groups:

  1. Standard-Quality Clicks: These clicks are the ones most likely from potential customers. They hold the greatest potential to raise awareness about your business and increase your conversion rate.
  2. Low-Quality Clicks: Low-quality clicks typically don't result in conversions or add value to your business. They might originate from sources like spiders, robots, or test servers.
  3. Invalid Clicks: Invalid clicks are unwanted clicks that can be due to click fraud, accidental clicks, or other fraudulent activities.

Monitoring Click Quality: To maximize the value of your ad campaign, you want to focus on standard-quality clicks. You can monitor the quality of clicks you receive in your performance reports.

Here's how you can do it:

  1. Monitor Ad Group Activity: Regularly run Microsoft Advertising performance reports. This helps you understand your typical click volume and spot any sudden, significant changes that might indicate invalid clicks.
  2. Track Traffic Sources: Use the Traffic Sources report to understand where your high-performing traffic originates. Exclude websites that don't align with your campaign goals.
  3. Track Conversion Rates: Turn on conversion tracking and use Universal Event Tracking (UET) to analyze the number of clicks and conversions. A sudden change in your conversion rate could indicate low-quality and invalid clicks.

Our support teams are happy to discuss your account in more detail via phone, chat or email to provide assistance, please see our support page to reach out!
