I want to access my Windows 11 Pro desktop computer from my iPad Pro M4 device with the Microsoft Remote Desktop application, but when I try with my IP address, I get the 0X204 error. No matter what I do, I can't solve it. All the RDP settings are set on my computer. Can you help me with this issue?

Thanks.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check Network Connection: Ensure both your iPad and the remote computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. Verify Remote Desktop is Enabled: On the Windows computer, ensure Remote Desktop is enabled in the system settings.
  3. Firewall Configuration: Confirm that the Windows Firewall allows connections on the Remote Desktop port (usually 3389).
  4. Update Remote Desktop App: Make sure you're using the latest version of the Microsoft Remote Desktop app on your iPad.
  5. Check PC Name/IP Address: Try connecting using the computer's private IP address instead of the PC name, or verify that the PC name is correct.
  6. Reset Network Settings: On the iPad, you can try resetting network settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings).
  7. Router Configuration: Ensure your router is configured to forward traffic on port 3389 to the remote computer.
  8. VPN Issues: If using a VPN, try disabling it temporarily to see if it resolves the issue, as some VPN configurations can interfere with RDP connections.
