Hello @Hamidou Sy In each Azure subscription and region, core quotas for virtual machines (VMs) and virtual machine scale sets are organized into two tiers.
The first tier is the Total Regional vCPU quota, and the second tier consists of vCPU quotas for specific VM size families, such as the D-series.
When deploying a new VM, the number of vCPUs required must not exceed either the total regional vCPU quota or the quota for the specific VM size family.
If either limit is exceeded, the VM deployment will fail. Additionally, different VM sizes require varying numbers of vCPUs.
To find out the number of cores for different VM sizes, you can use the Get-AzVMSize command:
Get-AzVMSize -Location 'southeastasia'
This will display the available VM sizes and their corresponding core counts in the specified region.
Additionally, you can use the Get-AzVMUsage cmdlet to check your current quota usage:
Get-AzVMUsage -Location 'southeastasia'
This command provides details about your resource usage and available quotas in the specified region.
