Hello,

Our production Azure Database for PostgreSQL flexible server instance on swedencentral went down, all Azure says that its "Unexpected issue" and that I should contact support. Our production applications are down because of the outage.

Cannot contact to Azure support as the "Create support request" flow does always redirect to instructions or some other ready solution that is not applicable (developer support plan).

The postgresql server issues started at 4.48 am EEST local time today and all connectivity was lost due to Azure issue. Monitoring alert was fired due to resource unavailability. All it says is "Unexpected issue" and the problem is on Azure side.

The same thing happened to test servers around a week ago and they recovered only after 3 days.

Is something wrong in general in swedencentral Postgresql Flexible servers, capacity issues on the datacenter or something else? Are they usable for production workloads?

    Solution:

The Azure issue was affecting burstable instance types in swedencentral and the support person said this is fairly common with burstables. I upgraded to a general purpose instance to prevent outages happening again.
