Hi @Tapati Bagchi ,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Platform! Thank you for asking your question here.

Upgrading your Azure for Students subscription to a paid plan will grant you access to GPU-based VMs. Paid subscriptions give you the ability to use a broader range of Azure services, including those that need GPU acceleration.

Azure Student subscriptions are specifically designed to provide students with access to Azure services for educational purposes, typically at little or no cost. Azure imposes quota limits to manage resources on their platform effectively. For student accounts, these limits are typically lower to minimize the risk of running up large bills.

High-end GPUs like the NVIDIA A100 are expensive resources. Limiting access to these resources on student accounts helps prevent unexpected high charges.

High-end GPUs are in high demand and limited supply. Azure might restrict access to ensure broader availability for enterprise and research customers who have higher priority based on their business needs.

With the student subscription, you can use try the services listed here.

Upgrading your Azure for Students subscription to a paid plan will grant you access to GPU-based VMs.

In case you want to move to pay-as-you-go offering, please check the details here.

You can consider opting for lower-spec GPU models that are more likely to be approved under student quotas, such as the K80, V100, or P100 GPUs if increasing the quota is not an option for you.

Hope this helps!
