How to get notifications when someone's status changes in New Teams?

How do I create notifications when someone's status changes in New Teams?

In the old teams I could click more options and select notify when available as shown below, but that isn't available in New Teams.

@Anonymous Microsoft is suppose to be making Teams BETTER with each release, not worse. There are other features which have also disappeared such as the ability to create a group categories for chat contacts and messages to better organize.

Please bring back the Alert When Available feature so that I don't have to keep constantly checking the status of another individual. Also add means for that alert to expire within a certain period of time, like 6 hrs or after a day, etc.

We need 'Notify when Available' in new teams! With it gone we waste a lot of time checking users' status in Teams to know when they are available so we can troubleshoot their issue.

For anyone who wants this feature back, let's be sure to upvote it per the Microsoft Vendor response. I was able to find a few different ones but be sure to at least vote for the top one for visibility, which right now has 2,557 votes https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/search/ad198462-1c1c-ec11-b6e7-0022481f8472?q=notify+when+available (you can sort by top votes)

Is this removed because of some EU regulation that doesn't want to allow tracking of people's activity (purely speculation on my part... but is it correct?).

Function seems to be added as of today 6/4/2024. I'm on Microsoft Teams version 24102.2223.2870.9480.

Out of the blue, I started getting notifications that I had previously set up but they'd disappear quickly so I didn't realize what it was at first

This option "Notify when available" is necessary for all of us. I'm not sure why it was removed from the new MS Teams.

The feature is not available, unfortunately. I believe they will bring it back soon again :)

Currently, this feature has not been launched in New Teams. We recommend that you use this feature in Teams classic version or web client.

To get this feature more quickly, you can send a feedback directly to Microsoft Feedback to add it in future updates.

Does that mean you received overwhelming feedback from users that this feature should be removed? Because if you are only adding features that people want, you should also be only removing features that people do not want.

This is a very convenient feature. The classic version will all transition to the new version, but there are still many limitations in the new version.

That would be a great plan IF you could also join meetings from the pop-up reminder or the Join button at the top of the meeting invite in Classic version
