I'm having issues trying to login to Teams on Ubuntu. Teams asks if I want to use my securty (which works in Chrome browser), I yes, then Teams gets stuck here:

Unfortunately, there is no official document said that security key authentication is supported in Teams for Linux. You could find the evidence from this picture:

2022-04-12T01:13:28.947+00:00 There's no solution that I'm aware of for the stand-alone app. It is supported through the Chrome browser, so that's what I'll use for now.

2022-04-15T09:48:19.61+00:00 Do you mean the security key authentication could only be used in Teams web client?

David Pick 0 Reputation points2026-09-24T10:01:42.7266667+00:00 I have the same issue. In my case, I suspect because other authentication methods are still registered for my account, if I wait (about 5 mins or so) until the dialog box times out I can eventually re-authenticate using another method. But it's rather tedious, and in any case doesn't help if there are no other authentication methods registered for the account.
