Accessing and using Microsoft Teams on smartphones and tablets across platforms
In the Teams iPhone app, Add account immediately shows “Try again later,” before it asks for a passkey.
My personal Teams account works on my computer, and I can sign in to my Microsoft account with a passkey in Safari on the same iPhone. In the Teams iPhone app, Add account immediately shows “Try again later,” before it asks for a passkey. I’ve reinstalled Teams, removed the saved sign-in entries, entered the address manually, and restarted the iPhone. My work account signs in on the same Teams app.

Good day! I hope you are doing well.
To help me provide the most accurate and effective troubleshooting steps for this issue, could you please share a bit more information about your setup?
- What iPhone model are you using, and which iOS version is installed?
- What version of the Microsoft Teams app is currently installed?
- Is the affected account a personal Microsoft account (Outlook.com, Hotmail.com, Live.com, etc.) or a Microsoft 365 work/school account?
- Do you receive any error code or additional message along with "Try again later"?
- Does the issue occur on both Wi‑Fi and cellular data?
- Have you previously been able to sign in to this account in the Teams app on this device?
- If possible, could you provide a screenshot of the error message (with any personal information removed)?
This additional context will help me better understand your environment and the troubleshooting steps already performed so I can tailor my recommendations accordingly.
I look forward to your response and will be glad to continue working with you to get this resolved.
Kind regards.
