An application or feature powered by Windows Copilot to assist users with tasks and productivity
Copilot Health has not been discontinued; Microsoft states that it is temporarily unavailable while Copilot transitions to the unified experience, so the server error across both Windows and the web requires service restoration rather than another local reinstall or browser change.^1^
What to do now
- Do not delete your Health Profile or conversations. That action permanently deletes your Copilot Health data and will not resolve a service-side outage.
- Keep the original Excel file stored safely outside Copilot. Avoid repeatedly pasting sensitive health data while the service is failing.
- Report the persistent error from Copilot:
- Select … in the upper-right corner.
- Select Send feedback → Report a problem.
- Include:
- The exact message: “The server returned an error. Try again later.”
- The date the problem began.
- That it occurs in both the Windows app and web client.
- That file upload failed before all Health prompts began failing.
- A screenshot that contains no exposed health information.
Microsoft notes that functionality gaps can occur while the latest Copilot version rolls out.^2^
If the error continues after Microsoft restores Copilot Health, open the Windows Get Help app, describe the Copilot Health server error, and select Contact Support when offered. Contact methods depend on the scenario, subscription, and operating hours.^3^
About the Excel upload
General Copilot file upload has not been withdrawn. Microsoft currently lists .xlsx as supported, with limits of 50 MB per file and 20 files per conversation.^4^
After Copilot Health is restored, test the spreadsheet in a new Health conversation:
- Select + → Add images or files.
- Choose an
.xlsxfile no larger than 50 MB. - If the workbook is large or formula-heavy, create a smaller copy containing only the relevant worksheet or data range.
- Remove names, account numbers, and other unnecessary identifying information before uploading.
Copilot Health remains a preview feature for eligible Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, and Premium subscribers who are at least 18 and reside in the United States. Some integrations may return later than the core Health experience.^1^
