    1

    Open Word.

At the top right of Word, log out of Office.

Restart (not shut down) your PC, then log back into Office, is your subscription then recognized correctly.

    2

If that does not resolve the problem, open Word.

    Go to File - Account.

On that widow, click the 'Update Licence' or Switch Licence' button to check if you can find your Microsoft 365 subscription.

    2

If not, log into your Microsoft account on this link, check the expiry date listed on your subscription, is that listed correctly, also, what Microsoft 365 subscription is indicated on your account.

If the family account appears on the smartphone but not on the laptop, first verify which Microsoft account is signed in on the laptop.

    1. On the laptop, open Start > Settings > Accounts.
    2. Check Your info.
      • If the child or family member is using a local account, select Sign in with a Microsoft account instead and enter that Microsoft account email address.
      • If an email address is already shown, note it and confirm it is the same account used on the smartphone.
    3. If this is a child account and it does not appear as available on the PC, sign in with the family organizer account first.
    4. Then go to Settings > Accounts > Family and check whether that family member is listed.
    5. If listed, change it to allow sign in.
    6. Restart the laptop. The family member account should then appear as a sign-in option.

If the Microsoft account itself is not recognized on the laptop:

    1. Use the Microsoft Sign-in Helper tool.
    2. If the username was forgotten, use the account lookup process with the security phone number or email address to request a code and view the username hint.
    3. If the account has not been signed in for more than two years, it may have been deleted and can no longer be reopened.

If the account is signed in but only a free Microsoft account or missing subscription/family view is shown, check the Microsoft account dashboard and confirm the same account is being used across devices.
