To renew a Microsoft 365 subscription, use one of these supported methods:

    1. Turn on recurring billing for the existing subscription.
    2. Redeem a new product key or download code for another year.

If a product key was bought from a retail store, complete the renewal at https://microsoft365.com/setup and make sure the correct Microsoft account is used when signing in. Enter the 25-character key and follow the prompts until the new expiration date appears.

If payment was already made at a store but Microsoft 365 still is not working, the renewal is not complete until the product key is entered on the setup site or the link in the email receipt is followed.

To verify whether the subscription is active:

    1. Go to the Microsoft account, Payment & billing page: https://account.microsoft.com/services/office/billing
    2. Sign in with the Microsoft account associated with the subscription.
    3. Review the subscription details:
      • Has recurring billing means it is active and set to renew automatically.
      • Expires on [date] means it will expire on that date unless renewed.

If a renewal notice still appears in Office after renewing:

    1. If the renewal was done with a retail box or card, enter the product key if that step has not been completed yet.
    2. Check the expiration date online to confirm the renewal updated correctly.
    3. After renewal, close all Office apps and reopen them.

If the subscription shows as active but install or renewal still does not work, contact Microsoft Support.
