Debra, GroupOn usually doesn't sell the Microsoft 365 product. If a product name is Microsoft 365, it is subscription, meaning you have to pay monthly or annually. GroupOn usually sells perpetual/one-time purchased license, and their product name will not carry the words "Microsoft 365".

Here is the problem - GroupOn is known for reselling Volume license that's not meant for home users. It is a violation of licensing terms for sellers to do that, and for home users buying this type of license, it is guaranteed to run into issues sooner or later.

To validate, can you tell me the exact full name of the product, or see if your niece can provide a link of the product? I am looking for keywords like "Pro Plus", "Standard" and "LTSC".
