    Hi Don,

As per checking, Microsoft accounts are separate identities and cannot be merged into a single account. If your Microsoft 365 subscription is on one account and Windows is signed in with another, you'll need to choose which account you want to use going forward and sign in with that account where applicable. In the meantime, data can be moved manually between accounts, but the accounts themselves cannot be combined, since each Microsoft account has its own identity, data, subscription ownership, OneDrive storage, purchases, and settings. Therefore, Microsoft accounts cannot be merged into a single account.

It is not possible to merge or combine a Microsoft 365 personal account and a different Windows/Microsoft account into one account.

    What is supported:

    1. Use the accounts side by side
      • Add both accounts to Outlook so both mailboxes can be managed in one app.
      • In new Outlook for Windows: View > View settings > Accounts > Your accounts > Add Account.
    2. Choose one account to keep as the main account
      • Keep the account that has the Microsoft 365 subscription if that is the account that should continue owning the subscription.
      • Subscriptions stay tied to the account where they were purchased.
    3. If the Microsoft 365 subscription is Family
      • Share the Family subscription with the other account. This does not merge the accounts, but it lets the second account receive Microsoft 365 benefits while both accounts remain separate.
    4. If the goal is one Windows sign-in
      • Windows can be switched to a different Microsoft account by changing the sign-in account in Settings > Accounts > Your info:
        • Select Sign in with local account instead and complete the steps.
        • Restart the PC.
        • Go back to Settings > Accounts > Your info.
        • Select Sign in with Microsoft account instead and sign in with the account to use going forward.
        • Restart again.
      • This changes the Windows sign-in account, but it does not merge the two Microsoft accounts.
    5. Move data manually if consolidating
      • Files and other account data must be moved manually before stopping use of one account.
      • For Outlook email, both accounts can be added to Outlook and managed from there.

If the goal is to have Microsoft 365 and Windows under the same account, the practical path is to decide which account should be primary, switch Windows to that account if needed, and keep or share the Microsoft 365 subscription from the account that owns it.
