    Hello,

    1. Could you please let me know which version of macOS is currently installed on your Mac?
    2. Which version of Microsoft Office do you have a license for? For example, is it Office Home 2024, Office Home 2021, or an earlier version?
    3. What is the exact error message you receive when you try to sign in to the Office applications on your Mac?

Meanwhile, please make sure that your Mac meets the system requirements for running Microsoft Office apps.

    1. Your Mac should be running macOS 12 (Monterey) or later.

Your Office apps should be Office 2021 or later.

If you are using an earlier version, such as Office 2019, you may no longer be able to activate the Office apps on your Mac due to recently updated security certificates. Additionally, your Mac must be running macOS 12 or later to meet the current requirements.

Try this in order on the MacBook:

    1. Confirm the internet connection works by opening a browser and checking that microsoft.com loads.
    2. Verify that the Microsoft account being used actually has an Office license:
      • Sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/services
      • Check whether Microsoft 365 or Office is listed there.
      • If no license appears, sign out and try another Microsoft account that may have been used for the purchase.
    3. Quit all Office apps.
    4. Reset saved Office credentials:
      • Open Spotlight and search for Keychain.
      • In Keychain, search for Office.
      • Delete the Office data license file.
    5. Run the Microsoft 365 Activation troubleshooter: https://aka.ms/SaRA-OfficeActivation-sarahome
    6. If the Mac shows error 0xD000000C, run the License removal tool to remove Office keychain entries, then open an Office app and follow the activation prompts.
    7. Restart the Mac after running the license removal tool, then try signing in again.
    8. If using a network account on macOS, sign out and sign back in with a local user account. If needed, create one from System Preferences > Users & Groups, then try activation again from that local account.
    9. If the error shown is Unknown Error 0x0 or License Not Found, update Office first:
      • Make sure macOS is version 12 or later.
      • Close all Office apps.
      • Open Finder > Applications > Microsoft AutoUpdate.
      • Install all available Office updates, then test Excel again.

If Excel was installed from the Mac App Store, remove that copy and reinstall Office from the Services & subscriptions page for the licensed account. App Store Office apps may not accept a one-time purchase license.
