Dear Team,

We are currently facing the following challenges while migrating our on-premises VMs to Azure:

  1. We are unable to migrate VMs using Azure Migrate because we cannot download the required VDDK 8.0.3 package from Broadcom.
  2. When attempting to use the Azure Migrate Migration Agent (Mobility Service) for Linux-based VMs, the installation fails with the following error:

"The Linux version Mitel Standard Linux release 11.0.84.0 x86_64 running on the source machine is currently unsupported."

As a result, we are unable to replicate and migrate our Mitel Linux VMs using Azure Migrate.

Could you please advise on:

  • Any alternative method to obtain and use the required VDDK package?
  • Whether there is a supported workaround for migrating Mitel Standard Linux (MSL) VMs to Azure?

Mitel Standard Linux Release 11.0.84.0 and Kernel 3.10.0-1160.24.1.el7.x86_64

  • Whether manual migration by exporting the VMs from VMware and deploying them in Azure is the recommended approach?

We would appreciate your guidance on the best path forward.

Kind regards,
Desalegn Ali
