An Azure platform as a service offer that is used to deploy web and cloud applications.
There are several common reasons why you may be unable to create a support request from an Azure subscription:
Insufficient permissions
- To create support requests, the account typically requires appropriate Azure permissions on the subscription.
- Verify that you have sufficient access, such as Owner, Contributor, or a role that includes support request permissions.
- Some subscription types may have limitations on support request creation. - For example, certain trial, sponsorship, student, or restricted subscriptions may provide limited support options. **No active support plan** - Technical support requests generally require a valid Azure support plan. - Without an eligible support plan, only billing or subscription-related support options may be available. **Directory or tenant restrictions** - If you belong to multiple Microsoft Entra tenants, ensure that you are signed in to the correct tenant associated with the subscription. **Portal-related issue** - Try signing out and back in. - Test using an InPrivate/Incognito browser window. - Clear browser cache and cookies, or try a different browser.
Recommended checks:
- Confirm your subscription type.
- Verify your role assignment under Subscription > Access Control (IAM).
- Check whether a support plan is attached to the subscription.
- Review any error message displayed when attempting to create the support request.
If the issue persists, please provide:
- The subscription type (Pay-As-You-Go, CSP, Visual Studio, Student, etc.)
- Your role on the subscription
- The exact error message or screenshot
This information will help determine whether the issue is related to permissions, subscription eligibility, or a portal configuration problem.
Thanks.
