Welcome to Microsoft Q&A
Hello @Vanessa Robinson
As far as Azure DevOps work items are concerned, there is no built-in feature to lock only the Discussion tab or Links section of a work item.
If users have permission to edit the work item, they can generally:
- Add and edit comments in Discussion.
- Add or remove items in Links.
- Modify other editable fields.
If the goal is to prevent changes after a work item reaches a specific state (for example, Closed or Approved), you may be able to achieve this through:
- Work item rules (make fields read-only based on state).
- Permissions (restrict who can edit work items).
- Custom process customization for inherited processes.
However, these controls apply to the work item as a whole or specific fields, not specifically to the Discussion or Links tabs.
