    Hi,

In addition to the steps provided by the AI, I have seen many users report similar issues so far.

Removing the security update helped temporarily, but the issue returned. Rolling Office back to an earlier working build was then reported to restore normal functionality.

If a rollback is necessary, choose a previous working build that matches your Office edition and update channel. Automatic updates may need to be paused temporarily during testing.

On Mac, keeping the original slide formatting is done through Keep Source Formatting when pasting slides from one presentation into another.

    Use this method:

    1. Open both presentations in PowerPoint.
    2. In View > Normal, select the slide or slides to copy in the source presentation.
    3. Right-click the selected slide thumbnails and select Copy.
    4. In the destination presentation, right-click the thumbnail that the copied slides should follow.
    5. Under Paste Options, select Keep Source Formatting.

If the paste option is not immediately visible:

    • Paste the slide first.
    • Then use the Paste Options button that appears near the pasted slide.
    • Select Keep Source Formatting there.

    Alternative method on Mac:

    1. Open the destination presentation.
    2. Go to Home > New Slide > Reuse Slides.
    3. Choose the source presentation.
    4. Select Keep source formatting before inserting the slide.

    Important detail:

    • By default, a copied slide can inherit the design of the destination presentation.
    • Keep Source Formatting preserves the original theme and formatting from the source presentation.

If the issue is specifically with copying a slide master rather than a normal slide, use:

    1. Open both presentations.
    2. In the source file, go to View > Slide Master.
    3. Right-click the slide master and select Copy.
    4. Switch to the destination presentation with View > Switch Windows.
    5. Go to View > Slide Master.
    6. Right-click in the thumbnail pane and choose Keep Source Formatting under Paste.
    7. Select Close Master View.
