How to setup region West Europe

Hello, I want to change the region for all my sources from Central Sweden to Western Europe. I’ve followed all the steps, but Central Sweden is still displayed as the region for all sources. Nothing has changed. This is affecting our business operations and preventing us from expanding. Can some one guyd me trough this?

Please note that the region of an existing Azure resource cannot normally be changed by editing its configuration. If the resources were originally deployed in Sweden Central, they will continue to display that location until the cross-region migration is fully completed.

Please verify the following:

In the Azure portal, search for Azure Resource Mover and open Across regions.

Confirm that the source region is Sweden Central and the destination region is West Europe.

Check the current status of each resource in the move collection.

If the status is Prepare pending, select Validate dependencies and add or resolve any missing dependent resources.

Complete the remaining stages in the following order: Prepare
Initiate move
Commit move After the commit completes, verify that the resources show Delete source pending. If they still show Prepare pending, Initiate move pending, or Commit move pending, the migration has not been fully completed.

Open All resources, filter the Location column for West Europe, and confirm that the target resources were created successfully.

Validate the target resources and application connectivity before deleting anything from Sweden Central.

If a resource type is not supported by Azure Resource Mover, use the service-specific relocation procedure or redeploy the resource in West Europe.

After validating that the target environment is working correctly, delete the original Sweden Central resources only if they are no longer needed.

Please also note that moving a resource to another resource group or subscription does not automatically change its Azure region.

Hi Breed,

You cannot change the region of an existing Azure VM in place. A VM deployed in Sweden Central remains there unless you migrate it to another region.

For VMs, Microsoft recommends Azure Resource Mover for cross-region migration:

Azure Portal → Resource Mover → Move across regions → Source: Sweden Central → Destination: West Europe

Resource Mover can move the VM together with supported dependencies such as disks, NICs, VNets, and public IPs. You then Prepare → Initiate move → Commit.

If you have multiple resources, select the required resources and let Resource Mover identify their dependencies before starting the move. You should not expect the existing resources' Region field to change simply by editing their configuration.
