Additional sign-in or account-related issues within Microsoft Teams for Education
For a work or school Teams account, recent sign-in activity can be checked from My Sign-ins:
- Sign in to the My Account page with the work or school account.
- Select Recent Activity from the left navigation pane.
- Expand each sign-in item and review the details.
Check whether the sign-ins match the expected browser, operating system, app, and location. Location alone can be misleading because mobile networks can route traffic through other places.
If an entry looks unfamiliar:
- Change the password immediately.
- Go to Security info and update security settings.
- If there are unsuccessful sign-ins, register for two-step verification / multi-factor authentication. If a sign-in shows "Additional verification failed, invalid code", change the password because the primary password may already be known.
On Android, recent account activity can also be viewed in the Microsoft Authenticator app by opening the work or school account and selecting Recent account activity.
If the goal is to identify exactly who accessed the Teams account, a regular user cannot view full tenant sign-in logs. A Microsoft 365 or Entra ID admin can check sign-in logs and audit logs for the account and the incident time window.
