Microsoft Purview Activity Explorer Historical Reporting in Power BI

We are currently using Microsoft Purview Activity Explorer to monitor DLP, sensitivity label, and file activity events. However, Activity Explorer appears to provide limited historical visibility, making it difficult to analyze long-term trends and create centralized reporting dashboards.

Our requirement is to build a Power BI dashboard that provides historical reporting and trend analysis for Purview activities beyond the Activity Explorer retention period.

Could anyone advise on the following:

  1. Is there a supported method or API to extract Activity Explorer data into Power BI?
  2. Can Activity Explorer events be exported automatically to a data source such as Azure Log Analytics, Azure Data Lake, SQL Database, or another repository for long-term retention?
  3. Are organizations using Microsoft Graph, Office 365 Management Activity API, Audit Logs, or another approach to build historical Purview reporting?
  4. What is the recommended architecture for maintaining Activity Explorer data beyond 30 days and creating centralized Power BI dashboards?
  5. Are there any licensing or technical limitations that should be considered?

Objective: Create a centralized Power BI dashboard for DLP, Sensitivity Labels, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, and Endpoint activity with historical trending and reporting capabilities beyond the native Activity Explorer retention period.

Any recommendations, reference architectures, or implementation experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
