Loop Page in Team Channel seems to only synch one way

Hello

I created a Page in my Channel and added a Task Loop. I then added a task to that loop and assigned it to myself.

That flowed through to my To Do app in Outlook, the Planner app in teams and online as expected.

But when I made a change to that task in one of those other places it did not synch back to be reflected on the Channel Page.

I also added a second task in one of those other places and that appeared everywhere except the Channel Page Loop.

So, the Channel Page Task Loop seems to only synch one way. This means the Channel Page is not an ideal way to keep up to date.

Is there something wrong or is this the current state of play with Loop?

    Dear Mary O'Connor,

What you are describing is not the expected behavior. Based on Microsoft's documented design, Loop task lists are intended to stay synchronized across Loop, Planner, and To Do regardless of where updates are made. Changes made in Planner or To Do should normally be reflected back in the original Loop task list/component.

For reference Manage your tasks from Loop Task lists and Collaborative notes in Planner

However, there have a few points worth noting:

    • The synchronization is not always instantaneous and can occasionally be delayed.
    • Microsoft documentation states that task lists should remain in sync across all locations where they are shared and edited

Here are some suggestions you can try:

    1. Opening the task list in Planner via Open in Planner from the Loop task list.
    2. Creating a new test Loop page and task list to see whether the issue is specific to the current page.
    3. Testing with another user to determine whether the behavior is user-specific or affects everyone.

If the issue continues after testing with a new Loop page/task list, I would also recommend submitting feedback directly from Microsoft Loop or Teams using Help > Feedback. This helps the product team investigate synchronization issues and identify whether the behavior is related to a known bug or service limitation.

Or you can submit your feedback via Microsoft feedback portal Ideas · Community

Since the documented behavior is that task updates should remain synchronized across Loop, Planner, and To Do, the behavior you're seeing does not appear to be expected.

I hope information above meet your expectations, feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.
